My love for baking started when I was a kid with an Easy-Bake Oven and, by around 12 years old, my first set of piping tips. I loved the idea of creating beautiful desserts, although I never imagined it would one day become a business.
As I got older, I studied Business Management with dreams of someday owning a café or coffee shop. Life took me in a different direction, but after becoming a stay-at-home mom, those old interests began finding their way back to me. I started baking from home, and what began with cakes, cheesecakes and homemade sweets eventually grew into JK Simply Cake.
Custom cakes weren’t originally part of the plan. An opportunity to make a wedding cake unexpectedly opened that door and led to years of creating custom cakes for weddings, birthdays and celebrations.
After years of custom cake work, I decided to take a season to focus on what made me fall in love with baking in the first place—simply creating beautiful, delicious desserts for people to enjoy. The recipes and quality haven’t changed; today, I’m bringing the cakes, buttercreams, fillings and toppings I’ve used for years together in signature flavors of our own.
My husband has also been an important part of this journey, supporting our family while I stayed home to grow the business and, over the years, helping with everything from deliveries and sales.
Today, you’ll find us at Columbia Market and pop-ups sharing our mini loaf cakes, cookies and other homemade sweets. We’re grateful for everyone who has supported JK Simply Cake through each chapter—and we’re excited to see where this one takes us.
